NGO’s ‘Stop Hate’ to counter BJP CD Lucknow, April 11 Aptly called ‘Secular Voices’, the documentary brings together voices of 27 celebrities from different fields to reassert the pledge the people of India had solemnly resolved to uphold in the preamble of the constitution. Releasing the documentary today Anhad spokesperson Shabnam Hashmi said earlier they were planning to release the CD in Gujarat but in view of the recent controversial CD released by BJP the venue of the release was shifted to Lucknow. Produced by two young students of the Jahangirabad Media Institute- Mohammad Zabih Ashfaque and Mir Basit Hussain, the documentary would now be taken to 2000 schools across the country. “The idea is to tell the next generation that there is another voice to counter the voice of hatred”, declared Hashmi while releasing the CD. The documentary interviews famous Indians who celebrate the unity in diversity and irrelevance of hate for the work they are engaged in. Explaining the objective behind the documentary Hashmi said, “It is very clear to us that unless we can spread across India and counter the hate ideology at an ideological level by using creative ways of spreading the message of peace and communal harmony perhaps we would not be able to stop the onslaught of fascist forces”. Anhad was formed in March 2003 in response to the Gujarat carnage and the unprecedented hatred that was experienced in the state at that time. |
