UAE deports 39 Indians

Dubai, April 24
The UAE immigration authorities today deported 39 Indians, a day after they arrived here on fake visas looking for jobs.

Officials sources said the 39 men, who had come from Delhi by an Indian Airlines flight yesterday, were detained at the international airport here after they were found to be carrying fake visas issued by rogue travel agents.

Most of them did not know which company was supposed to have hired them.

Another eight Indians, who were also detained on arrival yesterday, were later released for having valid employment visas, Emirates Today reported.

A senior Indian Airlines official yesterday said the men were travelling on one-way tickets to Dubai and were flown back to New Delhi on the next available flight.

"Immigration officials in India will look into how these men managed to travel without proper travel documents," he added. — PTI
