Local lad makes waves in Bollywood
Asha Ahuja

Ludhiana, May 8
"I am sure after your movie ‘Kaash Mere Hote’ is released in July, young girls are going to go ga-ga over you. Looking at you, I am reminded of my youth when girls became crazy about me,"said superstar of yesteryear Rajesh Khanna to Kumar Sahil, hero of ‘Kaash Mere Hote’ while doing some scenes in the film with him.

The 6.2 feet curly haired hunk belongs to Ludhiana and has done the city proud. He is a product of the local KVM School and GNE college, but films always beckoned him and he left for Bollywood last year.

Sahil is back after completing the movies with his left arm in a cast, as he fractured his arm during shooting.

Talking to this correspondent, he said, “This is a small price to pay, as I had a very enriching experience. I think I am a very lucky person as I am able to fulfill my ambition of becoming a film hero. I had nurtured this desire since I was in Class V. My father started a resort for me to manage, but my interest was in films. Finally I got a green signal and in Mumbai, I joined the Namit Kishore acting classes. Luckily I was spotted by Shravan Kumar of the Nadeem duo and he cast me his hero. I am lucky that my heroine is Sneha of (Lucky Fame) in which she acted against Salman & his brother Sohail Khan.”

He said the message of film is very thought- provoking . "It says that love that develops between the age group 16 to 20 is just infatuation and not real. Many young poeople are getting besotted with this kind of false attraction and are not bothered about their carrers when that age is the right age for education and chosing a career and not to be spent in loving.”

His father Gulshan of GK Estates is very impressed with his son’s acting and says that he will be making five films in a row and give chances to newcomers. “We should make thought-provoking films but with entertainment thrown in it so that the people watch it”.

Famous director Kalpana Lazami has also offered him a role in her next film, which is women-oriented women oriented.
