DA of UT pensioners raised
Chandigarh, May 22 Other provisions governing the grant of dearness relief to pensioners, such as regulation of dearness relief during employment or re-employment and regulation of dearness relief where more than one pension is drawn, will remain unchanged. The payment of dearness relief involving fraction of a rupee will be rounded off to the immediate lower or higher fraction of the rupee if the same is 50 paisa or above. Keeping in line with the decision taken by the centre, it has been decided to dispense with the issue of ready reckoner along with the dearness relief orders. It will now be the responsibility of the pension disbursing authority, including nationalised banks, to calculate the quantum of dearness relief payable in each individual case. All district treasury officers, treasury officers and public sector banks have been asked to immediately arrange payments of dearness relief under the orders. The liability in respect of pre-November 1, 1966 service of the pensioners and their family pensioners would be divisible amongst the successor states of the erstwhile State of Punjab, including Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh. |
