Maninder held for possessing cocaine

New Delhi, May 22
Former test cricketer Maninder Singh was today arrested by the Delhi Police on charges of possessing cocaine. He was arrested from his residence in East Delhi.

The arrest was made late in the evening by men from the Narcotics Department after they raided Maninder Singh’s house.

Sources said the police had been keeping track of movements of a suspected drug peddler, Sayam, who was with Maninder at the time of raid. He was also been arrested.

Nearly 1.5 gm cocaine was recovered from Maninder, who was later taken to the anti-narcotics cell where he was being questioned. A case under the relevant sections of NDPS Act has been registered against Maninder Singh.
