Rainfall: Rain/thundershowers occurred at isolated places in Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab and west Uttar Pradesh. Weather was mainly dry in rest of the region. Temperature: The maximum temperature rose appreciably in east Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Punjab and changed little elsewhere. The temperature was above normal in Himachal Pradesh, below normal in west Rajasthan and west Uttar Pradesh and normal in rest of the region. The highest temperature in the region was 42.2°C, recorded at Sriganganagar (Rajasthan).
Forecast till morning of May 24: Rain/thundershowers will occur at many places in Jammu and Kashmir and at a few places in Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and Uttaranchal. Isolated dust storm/thunderstorm are likely in Haryana, Rajasthan and west Uttar Pradesh. Weather will be mainly dry in east Uttar Pradesh. Isolated thundersqualls are likely occur in Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab and Uttaranchal.
Outlook for subsequent two days: Isolated rain/thundershowers are likely in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttaranchal and isolated dust storm/thunderstorm over rest of the region.
