Ranchi, May 30
A special CBI court today convicted 39 people of fraudulently withdrawing Rs 7.21 crore from Ranchi treasury in the 1990s but acquitted three others, including a former treasury officer of the charges.
Justice J K N Tiwari sentenced 13 of them to three years' rigorous imprisonment and slapped fines ranging between Rs 45,000 and Rs 65,000.
The court acquitted three others, including former treasury officer K N Jha who is already serving jail term after being convicted in five other cases in the multi-crore fodder scam.
Treasury officials and suppliers were among the convicted.
