A cut above the rest

If you want to get a haircut like David Beckham, it might end up costing you a pretty penny, but for the footballer himself, it doesn’t cost a cent for a pal cuts his locks for free.

Becks, whose changing hairstyles had garnered as much attention over the years, and as many fans, as his footie skills, laughed of reports claiming that he spends a fortune on his hair.

The truth, he insists, is that he doesn’t have to pay anything, for the friend who gets the chance to shape Becks’ hair, does it for free.

"My friend does my haircuts. That’s one thing that’s been said over the years, that I’ve paid like five grand for a haircut. And I’m like: ‘Seriously, my mate does it for free,’" Contactmusic quoted him, as saying.

The soccer ace has most recently been sporting a short blonde crop — one that has had his Real Madrid team-mates nicknaming him Marilyn — after screen icon Marilyn Monroe.

Becks, who was recently recalled to the England squad after being dropped last year, is getting set to move to the US, after his contract with Spanish giants Real Madrid runs out on June 30.

He five-year stint with US side LA Galaxy starts on July 1 this year. — ANI
