Farmers contest PSEB claims over 8-hr supply
Ludhiana June 14
Members of the Kirti Kisan Union today contested the claims of the Punjab State Electricity Board about the eight-hour power supply to the agricultural sector. Union members led by Hardev Singh Sandhu reached the office of the superintending engineer and asked him to verify the claims.

1 wounded in firing
Amloh, June 14
Yadwinder Singh alias Lakhi, son of Master Jarnail Singh, was seriously injured when some persons opened fire at a vehicle in which he was returning home along with his father and another person after a hearing in the District and Sessions court in Ludhiana yesterday.

Chahal’s arrest: Cong men scared

The arrest of Bharat Inder Singh Chahal, the media advisor to the former chief minister Capt Amarinder Singh seems to have created a sense of panic and fear among the Congressmen across the state. However, the Congressmen in the city seem to be horrified because of the close proximity to the developments surrounding his arrest. Not a single Congress leader from the city has so far met him in police custody.

Rotarians vow to shun plastic bags
