New Delhi, June 17
UPA-Left Presidential nominee Pratibha Patil will file her nomination papers on June 23, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Priyaranjan Dasmunshi said here tonight.
Dasmunshi, who met Patil today to discuss the strategy for the poll, is a member of the UPA coordination committee constituted for the purpose.
Patil has already said she would file her nominations after resigning from the post of Governor of Rajasthan.
As part of her campaign, she met various political leaders, including Jan Morcha patron VP Singh, and senior Congress colleagues here today.
Patil met Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chaterjee, Jan Morcha leader and former Prime Minister VP Singh and veteran Congress leader Karan Singh who himself was a contender for the top post.
Patil told mediapersons waiting outside Singh’s residence that she will talk to them at an “appropriate” time.
