Rainfall: Rain/thundershowers have occurred at most places in Haryana and west Uttar Pradesh, at many places in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab and Uttaranchal, at a few places in west Rajasthan and east Uttar Pradesh and at isolated places in east Rajasthan.The chief amounts of rainfall in cm are:
Haryana: Ayanagar 7, New Delhi (Palam) and Hisar 5 each, Karnal 4, Nilokheri and Kalka 3 each, New Delhi (Safdarjung), Delhi Ridge, Ambala 2 each, Sirsa and Chichhrauli 1 each; Jammu and Kashmir: Pahalgam 2, and Udhampur 1; Punjab: Balachour 3 and Halwara 1; West Rajasthan: Sriganganagar 5; East Uttar Pradesh: Varanasi AP 2 and Allahabad 1; West Uttar Pradesh: Hindon 3 and Bareilly 1; Uttranchal: Dehradun and Mukteshwar 1 each.
Temperature:
The maximum temperature rose appreciably in Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and east Uttar Pradesh, fell appreciably in Jammu and Kashmir, fell in west Uttar Pradesh and change little elsewhere. They were largely below normal in Haryana, Punjab and west Uttar Pradesh, markedly below normal in Jammu and Kashmir, appreciably below normal in east Uttar Pradesh, below normal in Uttranchal and normal in the rest of the region. The highest temperature in the region was 42°C recorded at Nal and Bundi (Rajasthan).
