Amity ties up with Chinese varsity

Amity University recently entered into an agreement with the Linyi Normal University (LNU), China, for starting collaborative research in various areas, including science and technology and commerce.

The agreement, signed here, aimed at promoting student and faculty exchange programmes, a release issued in New Delhi said.

The agreement will nurture young scholars of both countries to careers of excellence and leadership in the field of commerce, science and technology with the objective of promoting sustainable development.

Maximum cases of VRS

The textiles sector accounted for highest number of cases where employees opted for voluntary retirement schemes in 2005-06, undermining a 7-8 per cent growth registered by central PSUs under the Ministry of Textiles.

“As many as 6,637 employees ranging from lower to upper middle division in CPSEs under the Ministry of Textiles preferred to take VRS in 2005-06 as against 5,608 in the preceding year,” Assocham said in its analysis on VRS in public sector enterprises recently. — PTI
