KIMT to guide students

Ludhiana, June 21
The All-India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has notified that only those students shall be admitted to MBA/MCA from July who appear and pass MAT/CAT or MET conducted by designated central or state agency.

Dr R.S.Gupta, director, Khalsa Institute of Management & Technology(KIMT), in a press note issued today said the college had constituted an admission cell to give guidance to the students who need counselling. — TNS

A two-week- long summer camp, held at Kids Campus, Pakhowal Road and Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar concluded here today. It gave the children an opportunity to learn art, craft, dance, computers, embroidery art etc. A pool party was also organised for the kids during these classes.They enjoyed their summer holidays and learnt a lot of activities. Director Charnjit Singh and Principal Neeta Bindra appreciated the efforts made by kids and teachers. Participation certificate was given to each student.

Recipe contest

Whiz Kids organised a Toddler's Recipe contest in the school premises during their ongoing summer camp here yesterday. More than 40 kids along with their mothers took part in the contest and made dishes. The event was held to motivate the children and to see the equation of child with the mother. Kids were excited and had great fun making bhelpuri, salad, pasta, sandwich, fruit chat and much moe. Prizes were given to the winners. It ended with lots of fun and excitement.

Summer camp

A colourful concluding day function of summer camp was held at Cutes Nursery School, Sarabha Nagar, here today. On this occasion, students exhibited their talent. They performed enthusiastically in activities like dance, personality development, English-speaking and art and craft. The management of school appreciated the efforts of teachers and kids to make the function successful. Children were encouraged to participate in such extracurricular activities.

Hotel management institute to be opened

Ludhiana, June 21
The Punjab College of Technical Education (PCTE) is launching a new college in hotel management.

First of its kind in Ludhiana district, the PCTE Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology will provide an avenue for students to receive education in the hotel and service industry.

Dr K.N.S Kang, director, PCTE, today said that Tahir Sufi, who has done his M.Sc in hospitality management from Sheffield Hallam University, UK, and worked with the Hilton Group of hotels in Saudi Arabia and other leading hotel management institutes in Egypt for several years, has joined as director to run the institute with his experience. —TNS
