Realising
the importance of teaching environmental management strategies to the future business managers, IIM-L has announced a Management Development Programme (MDP) on Corporate Environmental Management and Carbon Markets. The three-day training programme (from July 9 to 11) is designed for middle and senior-level managers/ professionals in corporate and non-corporate sectors who are connected in any way with effective environmental management. The programme is also meant for consultants and academicians. The MDP focuses on how businesses can move beyond an approach that seeks simply to minimise environmental impacts. In addition to exposing participants to the working of Carbon Markets and Emission Trading, and their potential, the training will equip them to carry out Environmental Impact Assessment (EIP) reports and Environmental Management Plan (EMP). The training will be conducted using lectures by the IIM-L faculty and guest speakers, case studies and assignments. “A major challenge confronting business is being able to reconcile economic imperatives with environmental sustainability. IIM-L realises the increasing need for managers who are equipped with environmental management strategies in today’s time and how these can be used to gain long-term competitive edge” says Prof Sushil Kumar, the director of the programme. The programme fee for Indians is Rs 20,250 per head (residential), while the fee for international participants is US$ 510.
Animation symposium The Arena Animation Academy, a leader in hi-end animation training, presented ‘Perspectives: A seminar on Animation ‘at New Delhi recently. The seminar was attended by nearly 2000 persons. The seminar was aimed at bringing together professionals from the animation community to share their views and experiences with the students, to enable them to think beyond the obvious and get an insight into the tremendous career options within Animation, VFX and Gaming. The animation professionals who participated included Subhajit Sarkar of Rhythm & Hues, Yunus Bukhari of Artery Animation & FX, Swati Gupta of Fusion Toons, Uma from ASIFA , and Siddhartha Vasudeva from D Q Entertainment. The seminar was inaugurated by Salil Desai, Operations Head (West & North), Arena Animation.
NEN inks pact with
IIM-B In a significant new development for the faculty engaged in teaching entrepreneurship in India, the IIM- and NEN have come together in a strategic relationship to work together as partners in the NEN-initiated Entrepreneurship Educators Course (EEC). As part of this partnership, NEN will work closely with the Nadathur S Raghavan Centre for Entrepreneurial Learning at IIM-Bangalore, a leading center for entrepreneurship and entrepreneurship education in Asia to bring important knowledge and skills to faculty participants, with the aim to launch a pool of world-class entrepreneurship educators in India. Over 80 per cent of the faculty that enrolls in the EEC has never taught high-growth entrepreneurship. The EEC, a rigorous foundation course, has been specifically designed to address this need. The course that is amongst the leading faculty courses in Asia is designed to educate faculty to build comprehensive high-impact entrepreneurship programs on their campuses. Currently the EEC is educating a pool over 250 faculty members from NEN institutes across 26 cities and towns in the country.
