Free health camp organised
Chandigarh, July 1 He elaborated on ‘computer vision syndrome’, which occurs when one is not aware or careful while working on computers. He advised various eye exercises and measures like frequent blinking, changing the focus of eyes from screen to a distant object, taking adequate breaks in between computer work, getting up from the seat and taking a stroll for two-three minutes and using computer spectacles. Dr Sonica Chugh laid emphasis on ‘prevention’ of ailments, especially of life-style diseases like hypertension, diabetes and heart problems apart from various gynaecological problems and child-birth related fatalities. She stressed the need for a strict regimen involving 30-40 minutes of physical activity like brisk walk, cycling or jogging and healthy foods comprising of high-fibre, low calorie diet. Anju Beniwala, councillor, ward No. 17, representing Sector 21, announced that such health camps would be a regular feature in Sector 21. These would be held on the first Sunday of every month.

Bhatt given charge of UT SSP
Chandigarh, July 1 It has been reliably learnt that Yadav had handed over the charge to Bhatt on Friday. A 1992 batch IPS officer, Yadav had spent four-and-half years on the coveted post of SSP. The UT has not received the name of the new SSP from the MHA as yet. The UT is learnt to have recommended the name of S.S.
Srivastva. On the other hand, as UT IGP S.K. Jain has proceeded on leave, DIG Vivek Gogia will take charge in his absence. |
