Orientation course concludes

The three-day- long orientation course organised by the Bhai Kahan Singh Nabha Institute concluded here.

The main objective of the course was to develop leadership qualities and inculcate organisational thoughts among 25 students representing colleges at Talwandi Sabo, Muktsar, Sukhanand, Moga, Zira, Ludhiana, Nakodar, Jalandhar, Nadala and Mastuana Sahib.

During the course, chief secretary of the Guru Gobind Singh Study Circle Charan Kamal Singh talked about role of organised work in students’ life. He exhorted the students to strengthen their ability in organisational work.

Gurmit Singh, spoke on the objectives, philosophy and working of the study circle while Jatinderpal Singh shared tips on personality development.

Editor of Sada Virsa Sada Gaurav, Balwinderpal Singh, director,multi-media,Pushpinder Singh and director, organisational development, Prabhjot Singh, former principal, Guru Nanak Engineering College, Hari Singh and joint director (media and publications) Paramjit Singh talked about behavioral studies, leadership development and importance of education and social service in today’s world.

An assignment on importance of reading literature was also completed by those taking part in the course.It was evaluated by director (aided projects) Tejinderpal Singh. He also distributed certificates among students.

Budding artistes leave for Mumbai

Ludhiana, July 1
Arshpreet Kaur and Ishmeet Singh, the two budding singers from the city, left for Mumbai today with their fingers crossed.

They were given a warm send-off by their relatives, friends, mentors and other local fans. Both of them promised to present their best in the final rounds and sought everyone's blessings for the tough competition- "Amul Voice of India" a reality show on Star Plus.

Before leaving for Mumbai, Arshpreet Kaur, a final year student of Ramgarhia Girls College here, said they had received a lot of love and affection from the people in the city during these days.

"I feel we have to perform with more responsibility now as people have started expecting too much from us. We need everybody's blessings at this moment", she added.

Ishmeet, a student of SCD Government College, here said that they would be given thorough training by the experts in the field in the next 15 days at Mumbai. The final countdown will start after 15 days and the final rounds will be held in August.
