Gastroenteritis outbreak
11 more cases reported

Ludhiana, July 2
The attack of gastroenteritis in half a dozen colonies in Giaspura here, which claimed seven lives and afflicted nearly 200 persons, appears to have subsided with just 11 fresh cases being reported during last 24 hours at the medical camp, put by the health department in Makkar Colony.

Cotton crop faces mealy bug attack

An attack of the mealy bug in cotton crop in the districts of Bhatinda and Faridkot has come to light during a meeting of extension specialists, scientists and officials of the region at Punjab Agricultural University.

Citizen council pledges to save environment

Renovation of govt degree college begins

“Seven to eight per cent of the world population suffers at any time from depression. The projections of the World Health Organisation indicate that with the ageing of the world population and the conquest of infectious diseases, psychiatric and neurological conditions could increase their share of the total global disease burden.”

A drive through Siachen
Two women officers were part of the motorbike expedition

Treading a treacherous route through the mountain are, 22 Siachen warriors, including two women officers from the Indian Military Academy (IMA), Dehra Dun. Riding their way back on motorbikes from Siachen base camp the expedition was a part of the platinum Jubilee celebrations of the IMA titled — 'IMA-Hero Honda Siachen Warriors Motor Cycle Expedition'. 22 officers and cadets of the Indian Military Academy leaving Ludhiana where they had stopped for a brief halt as part of a motorcycle expedition from Dehra Dun to Siachen
