Local carrom players Farheen and Anjali Taneja managed to move to the next round after beating their respective rivals in the third round of women’s singles in the 35th Sub-Junior National and Inter-State Carrom Championship being held at Faridabad.

Farheen got the better of Jyoti Pravalika from Tamil Nadu 25-0, 25-23, whereas Anjali Taneja beat S.V. Rajita from Andhra Pradesh 25-12, 25-0.

However, boys could not do well as Hassan lost to Umar Tanveer from Uttar Pradesh 25-10, 1-25, 4-25, while Mohammad Amir from UP thrashed local player Mohammad Talib 25-8, 25-0 in the fourth round of boys’ singles.

The tournament is being organised by the Faridabad District Carrom Association under the auspices of the Haryana Carrom Association and the All-India Carrom Federation at Manav Rachna Education Institute (Faridabad).
