Rs 3 crore distributed at loan

Amloh, July 5 Diwaka Gupta, chief general manager, State Bank of Patiala, was the chief guest. Loans worth Rs 3.8 Crore were distributed. The programme began with a shabad and sarswati vandana recited by students of Green Field Public High School, Bhadson. The students also presented a group song and poems. The president of the gurdwara trust, Randhir Singh Dhindsa, president of the Arthtya Association Krishan Kumar Gupta and sarpanch Bhadson Rameshwar Dass Puri appreciated the efforts of the bank. Darshan Kumar Arora, a social worker, suggested to extend the loan facility to the poor shopkeepers also. Deputy general manager of the Patiala zone C.S. Jagdish apprised the customers regarding latest schemes of the bank. Assistant general manager J.S. Aneja informed the customers about the various technology initiatives undertaken by the bank. He also appealed to the account holders to avail the accidental insurance cover of Rs 5 lakh by paying Rs 84 only. |

Be firm in
decision making, teachers told
Ludhiana, July 5 Pawan Kumar, a chemistry professor, advised the young faculty to tap the inner resources, be firm in decision making, take responsibilities seriously, be precise, committed, accurate, focused and analyse the problems in order to nourish the engineering students in a right direction. He also advised the teachers to be balanced when dividing the time for the theory and practical sessions in the curriculum because without theory, nobody can strongly apply the concepts into
practise. |

Intra-college competition held
Ludhiana, July 5 Paramjit Singh, training manager, Punjab National Bank, inaugurated the competition at INC premises and encouraged the youngsters to channelise their energies in a constructive manner. He also applauded the efforts of INC in providing a platform to guide the young graduates in deciding their future. The main attraction of the competition was quiz, ad-mad show, dumb charade, collage making and folk dance. There were four teams of five members each. The main theme of collage making was transformation in the Indian woman since independence and theme for ad-mad show was “Mosquito net protection from dengue in monsoon”. The winner teams presented their ideas in most innovative way. |

Now, children rally for Taj
Ludhiana, July 5 Children of the Valmiki Dharam Samaj took out a rally in support of the Taj here today. Carrying placards they exhorted people to send SMSes so that the Taj could find a place in the list. They took out the rally from the clock tower and marched through the crowded Chaura Bazaar shouting “vote for the Taj”. If the Taj is voted in then it would definitely be a matter of pride for Indians, they added. |
