An accident waiting to happen

The Mohali administration’s love for trees seems misplaced. The recently carved out slip road leading to the Phase I and Industrial Area dividing road ‘welcomes’ commuters with two full-grown eucalyptus trees bang in the middle. For the inattentive, the trees are no less than death traps and in the night, these trees are virtually invisible.

Fire in SCO

A tragedy was averted when fire broke out in a cabin on the first floor at Sector 17 this evening. Thick smoke was coming out of the cabin in SCO 94-95. The fire brigade was informed by a passerby. Two fire brigades from Sector 17 rushed to the spot. The fire was doused but it took a lot of time to control the smoke.
