6 PCTE students get job

The Punjab College of Technical Education (PCTE) has got a research assignment from Credit Analysis & Research Limited, Advisory Group - a Mumbai-based renowned credit rating agency for data collection from 300 textile units operational in Ludhiana. A team of two executives comprising Milind Raje, manager - Advisory Services, and Parveen Vadambe, expert in textile consultancy from Gherzi Eastern Limited, visited PCTE yesterday and selected six students of MBA first year, namely Shikha Gupta, Sanit, Vishal Mehrotra, Rupesh Mahajan, Vinaypal Singh and Gaurav Makkar to carry on this project at Ludhiana.

The company issued appointment letters to the students and offered remuneration of Rs 60,000 on the successful completion of the project.

Seminar on diarrhoea

GGN College of Pharmacy organised a seminar on "Oral rehydration in management of diarrhoea" in association with the Indian Academy of Paediatrics here yesterday.

Dr Harinder Singh, head of the Paediatrics Department, GTB Hospital, and Dr Vineet Arora, senior paediatrician, were the speakers. Principal Kuldeep Singh welcomed the guests.

He said the aim behind organising this seminar was that pharmacists, being a critical link between the community and the media profession, could help to disseminate basic and correct information to this area and help to regulate the disease and its adverse implications.Dr Arora said diarrhoea was one of the most common causes of death among infants and young children.
