Ludhiana, August 5
At least 21 boys have been selected as probables during the trials conducted by the Ludhiana District Cricket Association at Arya College for Boys here today. Those selected will attend a camp prior to taking part in the upcoming Punjab State Inter-District Cricket Tournament (under-22) to begin from August 15. In their first match to be played on August 15 and 16, Ludhiana will take on Amritsar.

A four-member selection panel comprising Chaman Lal Malhotra, Sham Lal, Pawan Pandey and Naresh Marwaha, all former cricketers, supervised the trials before finalising the probables. The selected boys have been asked to report to coach Manmohan Bedi at Arya College at 6 am tomorrow.

The names of the probables are: Tarun Passi, Gagandeep Dhand, Bharat Malhotra, Chinton Sehgal, Pankaj Kumar, Varun Chitkara, Sanjay Kumar, Deepak Bansal, Munish Sawal, Shakun Jindal, Dushyant Kohli, Yogesh Kumar, Arun Sharma, Sunny Kumar, Amarinder Singh, Jagarpreet Singh, Ashok Yadav, Rahil Nanda, Gurdev Gill, Avtar Singh and Ramit Sabharwal.

Surinder Pal Gurjar has been appointed manager of the Ludhiana team.
