Anand Isher School win U-14 title

Mandi Ahmedgarh, August 19
U-14 cricket teams of Anand Isher Senior Secondary School, Chhapar and Government Senior Secondary School Dehlon were declared winner and runners-up in Kilaraipur Zone.

According to Sukhdev Singh, coach of the team the U-14 team had won the final match by defeating the Dehlon team by 8 wickets. The runners-up team opening the inning had scored 57 runs and the winner team scored equalizer at the loss of two wickets.

Aditya (20), Sukhman Sher Singh (12) and Gaganjot Singh (9) exhibited outstanding performance during batting while Gagandeep Singh, Navdeep Singh and Kulwinder Singh showed efficient bowling.

The winner teams were felicitated by their respective heads.

City athletics squad for state meet

The District Amateur Athletics Association has selected 55 players to represent Ludhiana in the forthcoming Open Punjab Athletics Championship slated to be held at Sangrur from August 25.

The list of selected boys and girls in different age groups is as follows: boys (u-16)-Dharminder Kumar, Mahdhir Singh, Vejinder, Ashpreet Singh, Puneet Pal, Jaswinder Singh, Ishneet Singh and Malwinder Singh; girls (u-16)-Ekanjot and Priya; boys (u-18)-Amarinder Singh, Harpreet Singh, Gurinder Singh, Samir, Bhupinder Singh, Jatinder Pal, Sewak Singh, Harvinder Singh, Karamveer Singh, Deepak, Amandeep Singh and Manjinder Singh; girls (u-18)-Simranjit Kaur, Ramandeep Kaur and Ranjodh Kaur.
