PAU zone and Samrala zone scored comprehensive victories over their respective opponents in the Ludhiana inter-zonal cricket tournament (U-14), which began at Sacred Heart Senior Secondary School, Bhai Randhir Singh Nagar ground here today.

PAU zone routed Sahnewal zone by nine wickets while Samrala zone defeated Khanna zone by six wickets.

In the first match, Sahnewal zone set a target of 50 runs before PAU zone. They were all out for 49 runs in 15 overs. Ranjodh scored 11 runs while Suraj and Uttam Singh contributed 9 and 7 runs, respectively. For PAU zone, Gurjot claimed four wickets for 9 runs while Vishwanath and Nikhil scalped one victim each.

PAU zone achieved the target in 6 overs after losing just one wicket. Arjun made 30 while Sunny Pandey remained unbeaten on 15 runs.

In the second match, Khanna zone, batting first made 87 runs. The main scorers were Navneet (43) and Sidharath (14). Samrala zone's Ajay and Prince captured two wickets conceding 16 runs each.

Samrala zone made the required runs after losing four wickets in 15 overs. Shekhar made 23 while Attar Singh contributed 22 runs. Yadwinder scored 10 runs and remained unbeaten. For the losers, Sidharath and Lakhwinder grabbed one wicket each. — OC
