Testing time Q I am doing BCA. What is the eligibility requirement and question format for taking the Nasscom Assessment of Competence test?— Raghav Manral A To write the NAC test, at least for the pilot phase, you must be either a college graduate or in the final year of your undergraduate programme. Afterwards, the minimum qualification will be college graduation (10+2+3). The NAC exam tests your English writing, speaking and listening skills. It also tests your analytical and quantitative reasoning skills. The speaking section asks for half a dozen one-minute responses to different prompts, some of them based on pictures. Part of the writing section asks you to write one or two short essays in response to questions. The rest of the questions in different sections are all of multiple-choice type. The whole exam is of two-hour-duration, of which analytical and quantitative reasoning questions comprise a single section of 20 minutes. After feedback received from the first NAC pilot test held in Rajasthan in November, 2006, Nasscom realised that the competency level was a bit too high for students. So for the future NAC tests, the competency level will be brought down by one notch. You can get all the relevant information at the website
