Ludhiana, August 21
PCTE has inaugurated its new institution, PCTE Institute of Hotel Management at Jhande village, Ferozepur road, here yesterday. This is the first hotel management institute in Ludhiana. The institute is approved by All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi and Government of Punjab.
Wg Cdr H.S. Gill, chairman, Punjab Management Education Trust, chaired the inauguration function of the institute. The chairman congratulated all the students and faculty members of the institution and wished good luck to all, on the occasion. Dr. K.N.S. Kang, director general, PCTE group of institutes welcomed all the students, their parents and faculty members on behalf of the management of the trust.
Tahir Sufi, director, PCTE Institute of Hotel Management delivered vote of thanks to all present in the ceremony. Dr. Kang stated, "The institute would ensure bright future for its students in the coming years since the hotel and hospitality industry across the country has taken a big leap towards development. There are 350 five star luxury hotels, 50 villas are coming up in the next few years in India. Reliance industries, Bombay Dyeing, MBD group and many more big concerns have already planned to enter into the hotel and hospitality industry. Foreign names are also coming to India. With developments happening at the national level, it is expected that around one million foreign tourists will visit India resulting into tremendous growth in this industry".
He added that more than 75 projects were in the development stage. This sector was estimated to create additional 0.15 million jobs for skilled and unskilled workforce.
