Racial attack: India asks Berlin to take action
Tribune News Service

New Delhi, August 21
India has taken up the issue of alleged racist attack on eight Indian nationals in the village of Muegeln in the German state of Saxony and requested that German authorities take action and prevent future incidents of the kind.

The Indian embassy in Berlin is in the process of getting in touch with the victims of the attack, the Foreign Office said today.

Meanwhile, Berlin has condemned the incident. A statement from the German embassy here today went, “The German government condemns in the strongest possible terms the violence against Indians which occurred in Muegeln over the weekend. This case must be investigated thoroughly and the culprits called to account. The prosecuting attorney’s office has promptly started its investigations.”
