New Delhi, August 23
An exasperated Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee on Thursday told MPs that he thought that children were more disciplined than them.
Chatterjee strove to ensure completion of business in the House after several disruptions.
“What is happening? I am happy, children are more disciplined than you,” he quipped when he saw some members chatting among themselves during Zero Hour.
A little later he spotted some members discussing something and objected: “What is this meeting (about)? Go to the lobby.”
He also displayed his displeasure when members of ruling UPA and opposition NDA clashed over issues like reservation and Sethusamudram project.
“Daily, I will send somebody out,” he warned, agitated over the attitude of Congress member
S P Goyal.
The Speaker asked the member to sit “or I will ask you to go out.”
