Kidnapped boy freed from father’s business partners

The police claims to have rescued a six-year-old child within hours of his kidnapping from Sector 69 here last evening. A ransom of Rs 50 lakh was demanded by the alleged kidnappers.

Amritsar cops seek addresses of students

The Amritsar police has started investigations into the circumstances under which Manjot, a student of Government Medical College and Hospital, Sector 32 (GMCH), committed suicide on August 5 at his home in Amritsar. The family of Manjot allege that he committed suicide after he was subjected to ragging in the college.

Army team to scale Kinnaur peak

The present plan of de-silting of the Sukhna Lake is too costly. The lake is proposed to be de-silting through dredging Rs 52 crore. To know about the cost comparison, I looked for places where similar works were done. It was found out that Algeria under took a prototype study on one of its lake to remove silt.
