Bowling machine for St. John’s cricketers
Chandigarh, August 24 While inaugurating the machine at the academy, UT director of public relations and SJOBA president Vivek Atrey said it would help batsmen work on their weak points. It would also help them learn bowling techniques as it had the latest speed-control technology with a speed range of 4 to 95+ miles per hour. “As a cricketer, I wanted to give some special gift to these budding cricketers. As they did not have a bowling machine, SJOBA decided to provide it,” said Atrey. Thanking the body, school principal Kamla Dass said, “The machine will help build a wonderful team. Such advanced machines definitely motivate them.” With the machine, the cricketers would be able to practise their batting against speeds that the bowlers would not usually be able to bowl at consistently for long periods. It would also help improve their hand-eye co-ordination and make them better cricketers, said Nagesh Gupta, coach at the academy. |
