Polio drops given: As many as 3,951 children below five years old, belonging to migrant labours of UP and Bihar, were administered polio drops in a three-day pulse polio

Murdered: Darshan Singh(40) of Dhilwan Kalan village of this district was allegedly murdered by Massa Singh of the same village on August 19 for Rs 15,000. The body was found on the banks of Dhaipi distributary near Dhilwan Kalan village on Thursday. L. K.
Yadav, SSP, said Darshan, who was a moneylender, had gone to meet Massa Singh to recover a loan of Rs 15,000. He said Massa Singh was taken into custody, who confessed to the crime. A case had been registered.

Major fire in rubber factory: A massive fire broke out at Kohinoor Rubber Mills at Basti Bawa Khel here today. The fire spread fast causing damage to rubber goods. Ten fire engines were rushed to the spot. Firemen managed to check its spread to adjoining factories. No loss of life or injury was reported. The cause of fire could not be ascertained.
