Militants kidnap 110 Pak soldiers: TV

Suspected militants today kidnapped scores of paramilitary troops in Pakistan's troubled tribal region near the Afghan border, TV channels reported. Army spokesman Major General Waheed Arshad said several paramilitary soldiers have not reached their destination but they could not be called as missing.

Shahabuddin convicted of murder bid

A special court here today convicted RJD MP Mohammad Shahabuddin of attempted murder of former Siwan superintendent of police S.K. Singhal in 1996. The quantum of punishment will be announced on Friday.
