New Delhi, August 30 The Delhi’s education department today suspended mathematics teacher Uma Khurana after she was arrested by the police on charges of blackmailing girls and filming them in compromising positions.

Moves to undisclosed destination
Patiala, August 30
Bharat Inder Singh Chahal, former media adviser to Capt Amarinder Singh, was today released from jail after the CJM Patiala granted him bail in the disproportionate assets case. He walked free out of jail after about two months since he was arrested in attempt-to-murder case at Ludhiana.

Militants kidnap 110 Pak soldiers: TV
Islamabad, August 30
Suspected militants today kidnapped scores of paramilitary troops in Pakistan's troubled tribal region near the Afghan border, TV channels reported. Army spokesman Major General Waheed Arshad said several paramilitary soldiers have not reached their destination but they could not be called as missing.

Shahabuddin convicted of murder bid
Patna, August 30
A special court here today convicted RJD MP Mohammad Shahabuddin of attempted murder of former Siwan superintendent of police S.K. Singhal in 1996. The quantum of punishment will be announced on Friday.
