Industrial units surrender 2.7 cr
Ludhiana, August 30
The surveys conducted by the Income Tax department on five business premises of a textile manufacturer, a dyeing unit and a textile processing unit in the Focal Point area here yesterday, have yielded good results with the three business houses surrendering concealed income worth Rs 2.70 crore.

PUDA Auction
15 SCOs fetch Rs 22.6 crore

PUDA today auctioned 15 sites for shop-cum-office measuring 160 sq. yds each at Dhandhai Kalan, Phase -IV, for Rs 22.60 crore against the reserve price of Rs 9.60 crore.

Traffic was blocked for over an hour at the Jalandhar bypass when the procession carrying the ashes of the Dalit youth killed in Gohana passed from there. Various Dalit organisations, apart from activists of the BJP SC-ST cell, burnt effigies of the Haryana government at Clock Tower Chowk while The BJP Mahila Morcha burnt the effigy of Congress president Sonia Gandhi.

Milk plant working to be revamped

Cooperation minister Capt Kanwaljit Singh has announced that the working of all milk plants was being revamped so that such units could compete with those in the corporate sector. Also, milk procurement would be raised to make 75 per cent of the plants operational.

Creating magic, the miniature way

The need to be highly individualistic has led Satwinder Singh Bhogal to create awe-inspiring things. He is devoted to the cause of reviving old traditional objects of Punjab and has painstakingly created miniatures in bottles. And this has happened by sheer hard work.
Talking to TNS, Bhogal said, “A carpenter by profession, I am keen to capture
all the traditional things in bottles and display them so that the children as
well as the adults get a taste of the old days."

Mazdoor union takes out rally
