Julia Roberts will be honoured at the 22nd American Cinematheque
Award. The American Cinematheque Award annually honours ‘an
extraordinary artiste in the entertainment industry who is fully
engaged in his or her work and is committed to making a
significant contribution to the art of the motion pictures’.
The Oscar-winning actress will
be presented the award at the Beverly Hilton’s International
Ballroom on October 12, Variety magazine reports. Since
its inception in 1986, the non-profit committee has given awards
to several actors, directors and writers, including Al Pacino,
Nicole Kidman, Nicolas Cage and Tom Cruise. — ANI
