One more lynched in Bihar

Nawada, September 17
Close on the heels of the brutal lynching of ten alleged thieves at Rajapakar in Vaishali district, one Surendra Paswan was beaten to death by local goons at Marhaina under Akbarpur police station in Nawada district early today.

Deputy police superintendent Ashok Singh said here a gang of unidentified miscreants allegedly lynched Paswan, secretary of Marhaina Panchayat while he was returning to his house. His relative was also severely assaulted by the gang members.

The motive behind the lynching was not yet known. Singh said three people had been arrested so far in this connection.

Incidentally, the district magistrate and police superintendent of Vaishali have been transferred and four other government officials suspended on charge of their insensitivity in dealing with the case of the lynching of people by villagers at Rajapakar on September 13. — UNI
