Sanmukh Singh Azad claims to have penned down hundreds of lyrics for Hindi and Punjabi movies. The list of singers ranges from Noor
Jahan, Shamshad Begum and Mohammad Rafi to modern Punjabi singers Hans Raj Hans and Harbhajan

claims to have penned down the famous "Awaz de kanha hai, duniya meri jawan
hai" sung by Noor Jahan for “Anmol Rattan”. He says he had been
receiving royalty for this song too. He also claims to have written "Lambi
judai, char dinoo..." sung by Reshma for “Hero”.

ASI nabbed with heroin; remanded in police custody

An assistant sub-inspector of police was arrested on the charges of possessing heroin worth Rs 75 lakh last evening.

Khanna likely to be made district soon

The state government is considering the proposal to convert the Khanna subdivision into a district soon. The matter has been taken up with Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal by Ropar MP Sukhdev Singh Libra.
