Seeing a window of opportunity in possible snap polls, Leader of the Opposition L.K. Advani and an aspiring prime ministerial candidate today launched a blistering attack on UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi and the Congress, calling them as the "biggest destabilising forces" in the country. Advani didn’t spare even the communists and the DMK and termed them as “other destabilisers”.

In yet another case of mob justice in Bihar, two suspected thieves in their 20’s were beaten to death by a mob in the state capital yesterday. This is the third incident of lynching in the state in the last 10 days.

No ‘threat’ to Ramdev's yoga camp

Maoists today dismissed reports that their threats were behind postponement of six-day camp by yoga guru Baba Ramdev scheduled to begin today. “Such baseless, misleading propaganda is a conspiracy of the regressive forces against the people’s desire for republic and peace,” its spokesperson Krishna Bahadur Mahara said in a statement today.

Water by the tankful
Kharar, September 22
Employees of Chawla petrol station at Balongi inadvertently filled water in fuel tanks of 14 of its customers this morning. Realising the mistake, the petrol station authorities compensated the customers by returning the amount incurred on buying fuel and for the damaged caused to machinery. The incident took place at around 7 am when some two-wheeler drivers came to get the fuel tanks filled. After buying the fuel, their vehicles stopped within 50 metres from the petrol station.
