Patna, September 22
In yet another case of mob justice in Bihar, two suspected thieves in their 20’s were beaten to death by a mob in the state capital yesterday. This is the third incident of lynching in the state in the last 10 days.
The incident points out the futility of measures adopted so far by the Nitish government to prevent people from taking law into their own hands in the name of street justice, including the imposition of collective fine, unless the police are sensitised in the promised line of either “perform” or “perish”.
The two thieves were beaten to death at Saketpuri under Sultanganj police station in Patna.
