Karunanidhi, the BJP office here was ransacked and its workers attacked today, while the house of BJP state general secretary attacked in Sivaganga district allegedly by DMK workers. Tatas asked to acquire land directly in TN

After witnessing the Left Front’s fiasco in West Bengal over land acquisition for Tata’s small car project at Singur, in a paradigm shift the Tamil Nadu government has asked the Tata group to directly negotiate with the farmers and acquire land for its Rs 2,500 crore titanium dioxide project in southern part of state instead of being a party to it.

Japanese women allege gangrape in Agra
New Delhi, September 23
Two Japanese women today filed a police complaint here alleging that three men in Agra raped them after confining them for three days there. An FIR was filed at the airport police station here after the women informed the Japanese Embassy about the incident, a senior police official said. The Japanese nationals, aged 24 and 25, arrived in Delhi on September 16 and left for Jaipur the next day from where they headed to Agra on Sept 19.
