Japanese women allege gangrape in Agra New Delhi, September 23 An FIR was filed at the airport police station here after the women informed the Japanese Embassy about the incident, a senior police official said. The Japanese nationals, aged 24 and 25, arrived in Delhi on September 16 and left for Jaipur the next day from where they headed to Agra on September 19. In Agra, the women met two persons identified as Sunny, who was conversant in Japanese, and Ilias with whom they got friendly. The men and women had drinks together later in the day. The women were then allegedly sexually assaulted by Sunny and Ilias besides one Rajan, who is said to be the UK-settled brother of Sunny. “The women were confined separately in an office and hotel for three days,” the official said adding, “The suspects yesterday arranged a taxi for the women to travel to Delhi.” As soon as they reached the capital, the women approached the embassy, which in turn reported the matter to the Delhi police, the official said. The women have given photographs of the suspects and some documents, he said adding but the victims were not able to provide the exact location of the incident. Medical tests were conducted at the Safdarjung Hospital, which confirmed rape, the official said adding that the clothes worn by the victims have also been sent for tests. — PTI |
