Farmers accuse Markfed of duping them 
Supply of diseased Basmati seeds
Ludhiana September 29
A lot of hue and cry has been raised by the farmers in the region, who were provided "substandard diseased seeds" of Basmati by Markfed. The farmers alleged that under the name of contact farming, they were being "duped" by the agencies. Terming the diversification and contract farming as "failure", the affected farmers have demanded compensation for their damaged crop.
