Former Haryana minister, Subhash Batra, was allegedly beaten up by some persons owing allegiance to another faction of Bishnoi’s supporters, at a tea party organised to welcome Bishnoi, here this afternoon.
The incident took place on the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi also known as the International Day of Non-violence.
Batra alleged that the son of former minister Krishan Murti Hooda along with his supporters attacked him when he was coming out from the residence of Bijender Singhal.
“Kuldeep had just left and I was moving towards my car when a group of persons, including Hooda’s son, assaulted me,” Batra said. He said he had brought the matter to the notice of former Chief Minister Bhajan Lal and his son Kuldeep Bishnoi. “Kuldeep and I are planning to address a joint press conference in Delhi tomorrow in view of the serious nature of the matter,” he said.
On the other hand, Krishan Murti Hooda
refuted the allegations levelled against his son. He said the entire episode was part of a conspiracy to defame him and his son. “He (Batra) only wants to let me down and is
levelling false and baseless allegations against my son and supporters,” he rued.
Hooda even accused Batra of threatening him in front of his supporters. “This infuriated my supporters and a clash broke out,” he said, adding that he had asked his men to exercise restraint, thus saving Batra. As of now, the ball is in Bishnoi’s court and how well he tackles it, remains to be seen.
