Bangalore/New Delhi, October 4
Ahead of crucial talks on the power struggle in Karnataka, Chief Minister Kumaraswamy today threatened to go for snap poll and even break the power-sharing pact with the BJP which insisted that the agreement was “non-negotiable” and that “goal-posts” cannot be shifted.
As the scene to break the impasse shifted to Delhi after the JD(S) failed to hand over the chief ministership to BJP on October 3 as slated, its supremo H.D. Deve Gowda said in Bangalore a final decision on power transfer will be taken in “48 hours”.
Gowda has kept open the window of keeping the coalition alive as the JD(S) has left the final decision on power transfer to be taken at the meeting of its political affairs committee in Delhi tomorrow which will be followed up with a make or break meeting with BJP president Rajnath Singh.
