Seminar on World Mental Health day
Ludhiana, October 8 Giving the information, secretary of District Legal Services Authoriy- K S Cheema (Civil Judge Senior Division) said that the seminar will be organised in order to create awareness about the legal rights of mentally retarded persons. Their guardians can avail the free legal aid from Legal Services Authoriy, if the rights of any mentally retarded persons are infringed or any injustice was done to him or her. |
Ashish, Yovanjeet steer PAU school to win
Ludhiana, October 8 Green Land School won the toss and invited government school to bat. In the allotted 35 overs, they made 198 runs. Ashish made 63 runs while Yovanjeet scored 56. Other notable scorers were Naveen (32) and Harmeet (14). For Green Land School, Harsimran and Mohit were pick of bowlers, taking three wickets each for 27 and 45 runs, respectively, while Raghav accounted for two wickets for nine runs. Harjot and Jatinder chipped in with one wicket each conceding 32 and 40 runs, respectively. In reply, Green Land School made 152 for the loss of seven wickets in the stipulated 35 overs. Mohit topped the score with 32 runs, followed by Harjot (22 n.o.), Simranjeet (22), Deepak (20), Amandeep (18) and Jatinder (11). The successful bowlers for Government School were Aman ( 1 for 19), Chaitanya (1 for 3), Harmeet ( 1 for 24 ), Akshay ( 1 for 37) and Tushar (1 for 22). |

BVM lads blank KVM 3-0
Ludhiana, October 8 Hitesh Girotra opened the account midway through the first half while Vishal Bector and Ashish Verma added one goal each in the second session which completed the rout. In the second match, SKS School, Neelon, won 5-4. The issue remained tied at the end of the regular period and even tie breaker could not produce any result. Finally, it was resloved through penalty shoot-out. The third match was played between USPC Jain School and GRD Academy in which the former managed to scrape past 2-1. Earlier, S C Saxena, principal of Kundan Vidya Mandir School, inaugurated the tournament. Twelve schools of Ludhiana district are taking part in the tournament. Santosh Mehra, principal of the host school, welcomed the chief guest and wished good luck to the participating teams. |
