HC judge, brothers file returns

Nagpur, October 16
After getting a month’s reprieve, a Bombay High Court judge and his two brothers filed the mandatory returns to the Urban Land Ceiling (ULC) authorities after they sold their land for Rs 105 crore, the highest ever land deal in Vidarbha region.

Justice J.N. Patel and his two brothers responded to the notices issued to them by the ULC authorities and filed the mandatory returns before the competent authority yesterday, sources close to the ULC said today.

Patel and his brothers had disposed of their 41.44 acre ancestral property at Rs 2.55 crore per acre to Hagwood Commercials, promoted by one Nikhil Chaturvedi. — PTI
