Rainfall: Rain/snow has occurred at many places in Uttarakhand,
at a few places in Himachal Pradesh and at isolated places in Jammu
and Kashmir. Rain/thundershowers have occurred at isolated places in
Haryana, Punjab and east Uttar Pradesh. Weather was dry in the rest of
the region. The chief amounts of precipitation in cm are: Himachal
Pradesh: Dharampur 5, Dadahu, Sunibhaji and Solan 2 each and Gohar,
Jubbal, Kalpa, Kotkhai, Shimla and Sangla 1 each and Punjab: Patiala
1.
Temperature: The maximum temperatures fell in Uttar
Pradesh and Uttarakhand and changed little elsewhere. They were
appreciably below normal in east Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand and
normal in the rest of the region. The highest temperature in the
region was 37.5°C, recorded at Barmer (Rajasthan). The minimum
temperatures changed little. They were below normal in Jammu and
Kashmir, Punjab, Rajasthan and Uttarakhand and normal in the rest of
the region. The lowest temperature in the plains was 13.9°C recorded
at Udaipur A.P. (Rajasthan).
Forecast valid until the morning of
October 19: Rain/snow is likely at a few places in Himachal
Pradesh and Uttarakhand and at isolated places in Jammu and Kashmir.
Rain/thundershowers are likely at isolated places in Uttar Pradesh and
northeast Punjab.
Weather will be mainly dry in the rest of the region. Night temperature is likely to fall by 2 to 3°C over the region.
