The police is suspecting the role of two persons who were seated in the ill-fated third row of Shingaar Cinema on October 14 night but had not returned after the interval of the movie.
The police is suspecting that two persons had planted the bomb in the third row of Shingaar cinema that killed six persons and wounded 36 others on the fateful night of October 14.
Experts suspect 200 to 300 gram of RDX was used in the explosive. The final report is, however, awaited
The police views the blast as part of a pattern of such explosions that keep taking place in the state every two or three years.
The city police and forensic experts have narrowed down after analysing the blast site as well as recording the statements of the injured persons. The statements could be recorded today only as most of them were declared unfit by doctors till this morning.
The two persons may have planted the bomb in the interval and slipped out. The police has learnt the persons were definitely not Sikhs.
None of the injured has been able to give a correct description of the suspects.
The police said it was also a possibility that the two youths had not returned due to some personal work. However, none of those have been quoted anywhere in media saying that they were seated there and had a providential escape.
The police, however, is at sea on whether the bomb was timed or a remote-controlled one. The triggering device or the activation device is still untraced. The police has found the crust of a battery but it alone cannot lead to some breathrough.
SSP R K Jaiswal told The Tribune that he could only confirm that no one was sitting on the two seats that bore the brunt of the explosion.
He declined to comment further on the investigation, praying the media to have patience, “For us, everyone is a suspect. Investigation in such cases requires a lot of time and work.”
The police is concentrating on the involvement of HUJI and Babbar Khalsa terrorist organisations into the incident.
Sources said the involvement of ISI is also high, but their role would be announced after getting concrete information only.
