Patna, October 23
She was supposed to get engaged tomorrow, October 24, and the marriage was scheduled in November this year. But even before her dream to begin a new life could finally take-off, it was dashed on the runway. Her would-be husband was reportedly working with Wipro as a software engineer in Bangalore.

This is the story of the Air Deccan employee, Sanskriti Sinha, (25) who hailed from Patna and was a graduate in aeronautical engineering.

The senior technical officer had been working with Air deccan for more than a year and was reportedly found dead under mysterious circumstances at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi late on Monday night. She was run over by a vehicle on her way to the aircraft from the baggage counter leading to her demise.

For her family members here, who were preparing for the engagement tomorrow, it is now time with utmost disbelief to arrange for her funeral. Even though Air deccan officials already described the incident as an accident, her family members were not ready to accept this.

The police too reportedly have not ruled out foul play as the circumstances under which her body was found aroused suspicion.

Sanskriti’s father Arun Kumar, a professor working in a college, alleged , “Her head was completely crushed, despite being reportedly run over by a light vehicle. The speed limit for vehicles at the airport is 20 km per hour”, he told the media here.

Sanskriti’s brother said they got a call around 10.30 pm on Monday saying she had been killed in an accident and that they would have to rush to Delhi from Patna.

Struck by grief, Sanskriti’s mother Shila Kumar said her daughter decided to work in the night to learn more. “It cannot be just a mere accident as the authorities and the police are yet to trace the killer vehicle. Someone has deliberately killed my daughter", she alleged.

Sanskriti’s body, which was taken to Safdarjung hospital in Delhi for post- mortem, would be flown to Patna later tonight.

Meanwhile, in a communication sent to her family based on a press release issued from its headquarter, Air Deccan said prima facie it appeared to be a tragic case of hit-and-run. “She was in full compliance of all requisite safety requirements and was wearing a high visibility jacket”, the communication reportedly said.

According to Air Deccan officials, the incident was immediately reported to the officials at the Delhi International Airport and the police.
