3 news channels banned in Ahmedabad

As a fallout of the Tehelka sting operation, three television news channels were banned by Ahmedabad collector, who is also the district election officer, on the grounds that it might incite violence in the communally sensitive district.

The Ahmedabad DC Dhananjay Trivedi has banned the broadcast of Aaj Tak and CNN-IBN for an indefinite period, as the telecast of this programme might incite violence in the communally sensitive district. Later, the ban was also imposed on NDTV. — PTI
