Rhyme Time
My friend

When I was alone,

Spending my day in loneliness,

You entered my life

To give me joy and happiness

Sorrow, pain and joy

All you shared with me,

While I kept wondering

Who could you be?

In all that I did

You are my ‘relief’

Making me trust you to say

You are my ‘belief’

What can I call you?

May be a friend

Whose memories will remain,

Till the very end.

The candle

I sat on the window all alone

Looking at the distant sky.

I tried to speak in my sad tone

but halfway the words seemed to die.

I have never seen the bright

shining sun

because all day along I am

locked away.

Many a time I have tried to run

and lead a life, happy and gay.

But as soon as I muster all

my courage.

He comes and grabs me by

my waist

and puts me in the candlesticks

which for me are like a cage.

Then without time go waste

He brings the burning match near me.

And puts my head on fire.

I try to plead, but I can’t speak.

So, I keep on burning

I keep on burning.
